"Hot Date," the latest single from Montreal's The Lookout, is the type of rock song that people like to say they just don't make any more. This is just stripped down no nonsense rock and roll mixed with punk. It's fast, and a little noisy, but also undeniably melodic. It's like if Supersuckers and The Donnas decided to merge into one band. The Lookout are the kind of band that remember that music is supposed to be fun, but also decided to make sure it's also great. Frontperson Martha Rockhard is the not to secret weapon of the band, and her vocals are going to keep you locked in for multiple listens.
You can listen to "Hot Date" below. The debut album from The Lookout is due out this Fall on Thousand Island Records. For more on The Lookout, check out the band on Facebook and Instagram.
