I certainly didn't expect to be writing a festival preview for the month of October, but there are so many great options that it's truly necessary. October is when autumn truly kicks in, and I'd personally much rather be wearing a sweater or a hoodie while watching bands play than having sweat pouring down my face. Apparently others agree with me since New England (and beyond) are hosting some pretty fantastic indoor and outdoor festivals this year!
HONK! Festival
October 4-6
Davis Square, Somerville, MA
HONK! Festival has become legendary as a free three day festival of activist street bands. The festival has been typically held over the holiday weekend, but this year it's happening a week early. It features bands from all over the world taking over Davis Square in Somerville, and this year features Dirty Water Brass Band, Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band, Undertow Brass Band, and many, many more!
Outermost Roots & Blues Festival
October 12-13
Nauset Beach, Orleans, MA
Outermost Roots & Blues Festival runs a little more hippie than we typically get, but it's an October festival taking place on a beach on the Cape, so how can we resist that? It features two sets with G. Love (Saturday with Special Sauce and Mihali and Sunday with Donovan Frankenreiter), plus Slightly Stoopid, John Brown's Body, and it all closes out with something called "Surprise Set with Friends," which has us intrigued. My biggest qualm about sharing this one is accidentally letting people discover how beautiful the Cape still is in October.

Commonwealth Festival
October 12
City Hall Plaza, Boston, MA
This one is a little more of a placeholder than anything else, since not many details are known about it. The fine folks at Bellforge Arts Center are teaming up with Cousin Stizz to put on Commonwealth Festival. Last year's edition included kei, Michael Christmas, Supersmashbroz, Clark D, and more. At the very least it's a free festival on City Hall Plaza curated by Cousin Stizz, so it's certainly not going to be a bad time!

Levitate Flannel Jam
October 12
Marshfield Fairgrounds, Marshfield, MA
Levitate Festival has been holding a fall edition for a few years now. Called Flannel Jam, it is "A Celebration of Fall in New England," and includes hot spiked cider, warm cider donuts, and flannel along with the music. Since this year includes Trampled By Turtles and Margo Price headlining, it's a pretty top notch line up just from that. That's two of the finest live Americana artists around in 2024, so we're hoping to be able to make our way down to Marshfield without Cape traffic or oppressive humidity. And wearing flannel shirts.

Concord Sound & Color Music & Arts Festival
October 18-19
Concord, NH
Another free festival, this time in Concord, NH! The first annual Concord Sound & Color Music & Arts Festival also features an arts market, sculptures, dance, and music. For a first year festival, they outdid themselves since the bands include Yonder Mountain String Band, Adam Ezra Group, Rubblebucket, Air Traffic Controller, and more! Even though it's free, many events do require that you register for tickets in advance, so head over to their website and do so!

Boston Fuzztival
October 18-19
Arts at the Armory, Somerville, MA
After not being able to run due to losing their venue in 2022, Boston Fuzztival found a new home at Arts at the Armory in Somerville last year. One of the finest showcases of Boston area and Northeast indie artists, they're once again bringing it in 2024. This year's bands include Sweeping Promises, babybaby_explores, Latrell James, Paper Lady, Bong Wish, Lupo Citta, Nurse Joy, and more! You should already be clicking on the link below to buy tickets for this one.
United Sounds NYC
October 25-26
Pioneer Works, Brooklyn, NY
I know, I know. We're a Boston based music blog, and this is a festival in New York City. But based on this line up, it's pretty can't miss for indie rock fans. First of all, it's the closest that a reunited Dismemberment Plan are coming to Boston (although how is the band who play "The Ice of Boston" not playing in Boston?) Plus, it also features indie rock legends Blonde Redhead and Les Savy Fav, along with new favorites like Sunflower Bean, Model/Actriz, Peel Dream Magazine, and more, with more to be announced. Well worth a road trip to NYC for Halloweekend.
RECOVER STOLEN CRYPTO ASSETS-SYNACK HACKERS
ReplyDeleteThe last thing I expected to be able to do was recover a total of $ 57530 USDT lost in my account, but fortunately Synack Hackers, a special team of authorized hackers, came to my aid. I had to seek assistance from the team who were able to regain my account in a matter of 48 hours after it had been lost to an internet imposter who pretended to be a broker and had denied me access for more than a month. They provided amazing services and were a pleasure to work with. Should you require their assistance? Synack Hackers is reachable.
