If you believe that Valentine's Day should be replaced by Winter Halloween, we have a song for you. "Sanitizer," the latest single from Culture Clash, is a punk song that fits into the slash horror category. It mixes punk with alt-rock, and has an early Queens of the Stone Age vibe to it. It's heavy, and it's fast, and, according to a disclaimer at the beginning of the video, "... 100% endorses a belief in the occult." It's a bit more grungy than Culture Clash's normal sound, as they were going for a Nirvana's Bleach meets The Misfits sound. They acheived it. "All queer, all female" band WENCH! have teamed up with party punk Jodie Langford on a new single. "You've Got Male" is a blistering take-down is about "... misogynistic mole-rats who hold women at an unattainably high standard due to their perception of femininity being affected by unrealistic media imagery." As angry and fiery as the song is, it's also fun. It's like they combined Bikini Kill and Le Tigre into one kick ass band. "You've Got Male" mocks their deserved targets, and would leave many of them crying if they were self-aware enough. It also ends up being one of the most punk rock tracks of the year, released as 2025 is winding down. Photo via Facebook P&B are the duo of Paris Ashwood and Bob Tinsley, who met at the University of Hull. Their latest single, "Waste My Time," is an interesting version of mainstream folk rock, but with just enough of an indie vibe to it to keep things interesting. Ashwood has lead vocal duties on this one, and she has a soulful quality to her vocals that reminds me a little of Aly Spaltro (aka Lady Lamb). P&B are the rare artist that is going to appeal to both mainstream music fans and indie snobs, particularly with Tinsley's indie rock meets blues guitar work towards the end. Bob Tinsley says of the band's latest single: “It’s always one of the last ones in our set & goes down well with the audience every time.
