Waiver Wire - "Battery Health"
Worcester, MA isn't known as a musical hot spot, but that's starting to change. The city has had more than a few bands spring forth from the city or the surrounding area in the past few years, often in the metal and punk side of things. Waiver Wire is on the punk side, particularly the pop punk side. The band's latest single, "Battery Health," is just pure classic pop punk bordering on emo. (Ok, maybe a little more than bordering, but I'm not quite ready to call it full on emo.) While "Battery Health" may fit squarely into the classic pop punk format, including a killer pop punk intro, the song does set itself apart with some killer guitar work that is more reminiscent of Western Massachusetts indie rockers than Central Massachusetts punk. It's a fun unpretentious song from a band we're looking forward to hearing more from.
