We might best know Josie Toney best as the fiddle player for Sierra Ferrell's band, but now she's set to release her first solo album. The artist currently resides in Nashville, but her first single, "City Girl Blues," was written when she was living in Boston and missing Washington State. This is an absolutely gorgeous Americana song steeped in traditional without sounding old-timey. This debut single is a fun song about longing for home. It has elements of folk, bluegrass, and blues, and maybe just the slightest bit of pop hooks. She stood out as a member of Ferrell's band, and we can't wait to see what else she has for us!
You can listen to "City Girl Blues" below. Extra is due out April 7 on Like You Mean It Records. For more on Josie Toney, check out the artist's website.
