Cape Crush is a band from the North Shore of Massachusetts formed when James Christopher asked Ali Lipman in 2021 about forming a band over their shared influences of The Get Up Kids and The Weakerthans. "San Souci" is a distinctly an emo song, and unashamedly so. This is the type of emo from the late 90's, when bands like The Promise ring and The Get Up Kids were starting to break and putting just a little pop sound into their songs. It's a really fun song that's going to hit nostalgia buttons for those of us around then while still sounding fresh. Cape Crush pays homage to their influences without just mimicking them.
