Norway born and Lafayette residing musician Rainy Eyes is back with a new single. "A Little Dream" is just a perfect country torch song. It resides in an area that recalls vintage country and a more modern country sound. It's a simply gorgeous song that shows off the pop leaning side of alt-country without coming close to pop country. The song is accentuated by the pedal steel playing of the late Chris Stafford, which is what gives "A Little Dream" it's vintage adjacent sound. There's also Rainy Eyes' voice, which dances on the line between country and pop. This is the type of song that even those who hate all things country or Americana won't be able to resist.
Rainy Eyes says of her latest single:
"'A
Little Dream' is a deceptive love story. When you feel so strongly about
someone, but you question whether or not it is real or if you’re just high on
the feeling. You can love someone, but that doesn’t mean they are right for
you. This song takes on those big questions.”
You can listen to "A Little Dream" below. Lonesome Highway is due out July 12, and is available for pre-order here. For more on Rainy Eyes, check out the artist's website.
