Zelma Stone - "Be the One"

Zelma Stone the musical project of San Francisco based musician Chloe Zelma Studebaker. She recently released a live video for her latest single, "Be the One." Part of her A Dance project, an EP features that features Zelma Stone performing live with accompaniment by dancers. "Be the One" is an atmospheric track that is rooted in folk and singer-songwriter fare, but with a layer of noise and fuzz over it. The song is both lovely and a little discordant at times. The more noisy elements are beautiful at times while still being a little unsettling. The song teeters on the edge of the mainstream and can also be considered high art and not pop. Zelma Stone's project is one of the more intriguing we've covered in a long time, and we're thrilled to see where it goes.

Zelma Stone says of the project:

"A DANCE is a live, visual (4 part) performance project featuring myself, my band, and two highly respected dancers here in LA. I had this vision to make this happen as I began recording the EP in 2022. The project starts in the night and ends in the daylight, representing the stages of grief and the lows and highs of life.. Life is one long dance.
"This is my favorite piece of work yet and it was very healing to make my vision come to light. My hope is for others to find inspiration and comfort in relating to the content."
