The Peawees - "Banana Tree"

At this point, we know what to expect from The Peawees. The Italian garage rock band are masters of adding some soul and pop hooks into their raw rock sound. Their latest single, "Banana Tree," is a rough rocker that is smoothed out just enough by the pop and soul sensibilities to make it unbearably catchy. This is just a killer rock and roll song, pure and simple. The Peawees even add a spaghetti western guitar solo just to keep things interesting and sounding even cooler.

Herve Peroncini says of his band's latest single:

"During the pandemic, I was stuck in Tenerife in the Canary Islands. While I was there, I bought a guitar from an Egyptian guy for 30 euros to pass the time, and that's where I wrote most of our new album. I heard about a criminal who had fled Italy and come to the islands to start a new life—a plan gone wrong. It was the story that inspired me to write 'Banana Tree.'"

You can listen to "Banana Tree" below. One Ride is due out September 6 on Spaghetty Town Records. For more on The Peawees, check out the band on Facebook and Instagram.
