mary in the junkyard - "bear walk"

The latest from mary in the junkyard has already defied the expectations already set by their young career. While previous singles have been a mixture of various style of noisy alt and indie rock, "bear walk" has an almost country or Americana feel. It's a little ramblin', and still much noisier than your typical country song, but it's decidedly softer and more melodic than we've heard from them previously. It's still more of an indie rock track, just with its roots in an Americana sound. However, mary in the junkyard did start out as a folk project, so this newer sound isn't completely out of their realm.
mary in the junkyard say of their latest single:
“‘bear walk’ is the story of someone trying to make their lover stay with them in their feral lifestyle. It is about the push and pull between wildness and conventionality, and was born from us playing some acoustic gigs over the summer.”
