Careen - "Spit Choke"

Bellingham, WA based Careen is set to release a new EP this Friday. The first single off the EP, "Spike Choke," is an absolute monster track. It's a mixture of post-hardcore, indie, and experimental rock. It's loud and raw rock music, filled with fuzz and crunch that just pummels a listener. It sounds like a long lost release off Dischord or SST Records without sounding dated. To me "Spike Choke" sounds like if Fugazi made an album with Henry Rollins. It just goes between a plodding monolith to completely out of control throughout its three minute length.
