Jay Allen & The Archcriminals - "Sister in Crime"

Jay Allen was a friend and collaborator with Justine Covault. which has lead to him recording a tribute song to his late friend with his band, Jay Allen & The Archcriminals. "Sister in Crime" packs a ton of emotion into a six minute song. Fittingly enough, this isn't a "Candle in the Wind" style ballad, but instead it's a full on rock song. How else would you memorialize Justine Covault?

Instead of trying to find more to say about "Sister in Crime," I'll let Jay Allen explain the song much better than I could:

"This song is dedicated to the memory and written for one of my dearest and closest friends of the last 40 years, Justine Covault. She was an amazing woman, who meant a lot to so many people and we lost her way too soon. For me she was more than a friend, she was my most ardent supporter, not just in music, but in life, bandmate, roommate, and for the last 7 plus years my co-host along with Tom Baker in our monthly residency, The Mess-Around. Her impact on our little Rock ‘n’ Roll village here in Boston is immeasurable. Not just as an artist with her two bands, Justine and The Unclean and Justine’s Black Threads, but as a supporter, fan, promoter, and most importantly the founder of Red on Red Records, who in 3 short years created a multi-media home for many artists locally and from around the world."

You can listen to "Sister in Crime" below. The song is out now on Rum Bar Records for the name your price option. For more on Jay Allen & The Archcriminals, check out the band on Facebook. Friday is A Night for Justine: A Tribute Concert for Justine Covault at the Crystal Ballroom at Somerville Theater. More information can be found on the Facebook event page.
