Rainy Eyes - "You Just Want What You Can't Have"

Rainy Eyes was born in Bergen, Norway, moved to Denmark at age eighteen, met an American free jazz musician, eloped and moved to San Francisco at nineteen, had a son, and moved to Louisiana after her marriage fell apart. Her latest single, "You Just Want What You Can't Have" is a multi-genre song that will probably get labelled Americana. It contains elements of country, soul, blues, jazz, and rock in this perfect mixture that feels completely familiar without being at all boring. It's the type of song that you're going to enjoy based solely on the guitar intro, and be enamored with by the end. Everything in "You Just Want What You Can't Have" melds together perfectly. Rainy Eyes' vocals, guitar, keyboards, backing vocals, drums... it all makes this a perfect song.

Rainy Eyes says of her new single:

"As William Bell wrote with perfect eloquence and Otis Redding sang with deep conviction, 'You don’t miss your water till your well runs dry. I fully embraced that sentiment when writing 'You Just Want What You Can’t Have.’ The song is in that same spirit. It's a truthful slap in the face for anyone who doesn’t appreciate what they have until it’s gone, and a reminder to not settle for less."
