Still/Form - "Loyal, Like Dogs"

Portland, OR's Still/Form are going to be a hard band to define. Their latest single, "Loyal, Like Dogs," is a loud, heavy, and noisy track that doesn't fit quite into any category. It's not quite heavy enough to be metal, but it kind of is. It's a little too noisy to be considered metal, not even alt-metal like bands like Quicksand and Helmet. But it's a little too heavy to be noise rock, although it is really noisy. When I listen, I'm hearing a lot of other difficult to define bands such as The Jesus Lizard, Shellac, and Pelican. Which is pretty great company for Still/Form to be in. If you're looking for hard to define loud and noisy rock, you're going to need to check out "Loyal, Like Dogs."

You can listen to "Loyal, Like Dogs" below. From the Rot is a Gift is due out August 1 on Hex Records, and can be pre-ordered via Bandcamp. For more on Still/Form, check out the band on Facebook.
