theWorst - "Hurt Forever"

For their latest single, Portland, ME trio theWorst brought in their friend Tony Bevilacqua of The Distillers. "Hurt Forever" lives in a world between genres. You're going to hear a lot of modern and contemporary punk and emo here. There is definitely the edge of punk and the heartfelt sincerity of emo, but this isn't an early 2000's Warped Tour band here. "Hurt Forever" also has the fuzz and aggression of bands that broke out in the wave of grunge and were lumped into that category despite not being grunge, like L7 or Dinosaur Jr. theWorst are making music that truly lives in between all of those sounds.

Brooke Binion says of the new song:

“When you’re manic, it’s like your brain is making decisions that you don’t agree with but you’re doing them anyway. There’s a lot of impulsivity and that feeling of knowing something is a terrible idea but suddenly you’re doing it.”
