Boston's Bedroom Eyes make "pummel pop" according to their press release, and if their latest single is pummel pop, I'm fully on board. Lately more and more bands have been expanding the sounds of shoegaze, and Bedroom Eyes are one of those. "Planted" has all of the fuzz and dreamy qualities of shoegaze, but it's played faster and heavier while being quite poppy. The song just chugs away with vocals that are a step or two slower. The music just builds and builds into a crashing yet beautiful mess. "Planted" is an absolutely epic song that will suck you in for repeated listens, which we recommend.
You can listen to "Planted" below. Turned Away is due out July 18 on Ala Carte Records, and is available for pre-order through Bandcamp. For more on Bedroom Eyes, check them out on Facebook and Instagram.
