Widows Gold was formed by husband and wife Ben Sauer and Madeline Star. The Costa Mesa, CA band added Ian Zamora on bass and Carson Ford on drums to fill out their line up. The band's latest single, "Holy Rollers," is an interesting mix of pop sensibilities with punk and indie noise. The song is reminding me a lot of early Letters to Cleo but through an edgier early 80's punk grime. Star's vocals are more like an early 00's pop punk singer, but the music has an edge to it you never get with that style. It's like power pop mixed with post punk, and I think we're here for that sound!
