While there are a ton of pandemic/quarantine related songs, most don't seem to be about anticipating getting out of quarantine and for life to start up again. New York's Basic Bitches have released one of those rare songs. The duo have released "Start the World," a riot grrrl track heavily infused with blues and maybe even some metal poking out. The track has an interesting L7 meets The White Stripes sound to it, which we are completely here for. "Start the World" is an absolute celebration of joy and life, which you wouldn't necessarily expect given the genres. Something tells me we'll be following Basic Bitches around here very closely.
You can watch the Grey Gardens inspired video for "Start the World" below. It Doesn't Matter if It's Cool is due out April 7 and can be pre-ordered through Bandcamp. For more on Basic Bitches, check out the band's website.
