Montreal's La Sécurité is an at-punk group that are making impossible to resist post-punk. Their latest single, "Serpent," has this infectious post-punk groove and backbeat paired with some of the most airy disco pop you've heard since Deee-lite. This is the kind of song that is impossible to not want to dance to, even if it's still punk, filled with feedback, and gloriously off-kilter. This isn't a Top 40 style dance song or even a dance punk song. "Serpent" is as addictive as it is ear wormy. It's five and a half minutes long, and you're still going to be desperate for more once it's over.
The band says of their new song:
“The person it is directed towards loves dancing. It's a pretty dancy song. We hope they dance to it.”
