The latest single from Adeline Hotel's upcoming album hits two of our sweet spots. "Lightning" has a pretty chilled out/groovy indie rock vibe that gets more intense as the song goes on, and it's fairly rooted in folk/country. It's like a more straightforward Pavement decided to try their hand at country, but didn't want to fully commit to the new style. The song just keeps getting better as it goes on, and despite indie rock and country being genres that can be joyless, "Lightning" is a wonderfully fun little song.
You can listen to "Lightning" below. Away Together, the new album from Adeline Hotel, will be out October 26. You can pre-order it over at Bandcamp. If you happen to be in the New York area, they're playing a show on October 26 at Union Pool in Brooklyn.
