Speedfossil - "Peg Leg"

Speedfossil are celebrating their tenth anniversary as a band with a twenty song anthology which includes a new single. "Peg Leg" is going to hit a sweet spot for those of us who fondly remember the alt-rock scene of the 90's. It sounds like that song you loved on a random movie soundtrack. It wasn't one of the big ones by Gin Blossoms or The Lemonheads. "Peg Leg" sounds more like that band you loved, but could never find any more information on. It's a great alt-rock song that's undeniably catchy, stopping a few steps before punk, but with some obvious punk influences. Speedfossil are a fun band, and this is a great release to celebrate their first ten years.

Garret Vandermolen (vocals, guitar, keyboards) says of his band's new single:

“‘Peg Leg’ is really about trying to be positive and move a relationship forward, even though you may not have always been able to do that in the past. We all f*** up – myself, constantly! – but you learn from your mistakes and you try to do it better the next time. And it really helps when you’ve got some friends to help you along the way. It's a simple message, but I think it's a positive one.”

You can watch the video for "Peg Leg" below. Time Flies: 10 Years of Speedfossil is out today on Sonic Escort, a subsidiary of The Sound Cove. They're scheduled to play The Burren on October 19 as part of The Sound Cove's Super Sonic Showcase with The Chelsea Curve, Happy Little Clouds, Eric Barlow, and more.
