Film School were one of the premier "nu-gaze" bands of the early 2000's, which is a movement that truly should be revisited. The band took a little bit of time off, but have been consistently making music all this time. Their latest single, "Tape Rewind," is pure early 2000's shoegaze. It has all the fuzz and drone needed for any proper shoegaze song, but there's just that slight edge to it that always seemed to set Film School apart. There is beauty in "Tape Rewind," but also an aggression bubbling just under the surface. To be honest, Film School are a band that slipped off my radar for a bit, but this song is going to inspire us all to revisit their twenty-plus year catalog.
You can watch the video for "Tape Rewind" below. Field is due out August 25 on Felte, and is available for pre-order here. For more on Film School, check out the band's website.
