I keep waiting for someone to step up and take the crown of the world's best doombrass band from Eight Foot Manchild, but they remain the first and best doombrass band in the world. The Boston band just released a new single, "Shrine of the Orange Sunn." Maybe it's the horns, but this gets far funkier than music this heavy typically gets. It reminds me of a more sludgy Clutch, but with horns. Eight Foot Manchild also delve into some Mike Patton-esque weirdness on "Shrine of the Orange Sunn," and you can't go wrong with that. This is just a surprisingly heavy rocker with some killer horns. If that sounds even slightly appealing to you, this one is going to definitely be your kind of thing.
You can listen to "Shrine of the Orange Sunn" below. The track is available via Bandcamp. For more on Eight Foot Manchild, check out the band on Facebook and Instagram.
