2024 is going to be a big year for Kaia Kater. The Americana artist recently signed to Free Dirt Records, recently formed a black string band supergroup with Jake Blount, Tray Wellington, and Nelson Williams called New Dangerfield, and just released a new single. "The Internet" was inspired by Kate Bush's "Watching You Without Me," and it's a mostly traditional folk song. It's the kind of song that blurs the line between traditional folk and more experimental folk, especially once the electronic elements kick in halfway through. Kater has been establishing herself as one of the more creative Americana artists out there today, and "The Internet" helps establish that more.
You can listen to "The Internet" below. Kaia Kater's new album will be out this spring on Free Dirt Records. For more on Kaia Kater, check out the artist's website.
