Boston's Lady Pills gets fully into the rock on her latest single. Ella Boisonnault's musical project just released "Didn't You," which is filled with an indie rock meets alt-pop joy. The song is heavy on fuzzy guitars, but is far too catchy to fully be a pure rock song. It's fast and bouncy and is truly a fun listen. This one just has an extra added crunch to it that we're finding delightful. I'm getting some major late 90's flashbacks from when alt-rock started to let in a little bit more pop, like Letters to Cleo's Go! or that dog's Retreat from the Sun. "Didn't You" is a rocker overflowing with pop hooks.
In a Facebook post, Lady Pills says of their new single:
"This is one of my favs on the upcoming album and I am so proud to share it. I wrote this one in the midst of trying to make sense of a lot of sloppy stuff. I hope it feels supportive and fun and gives you space to do the same "
You can listen to "Didn't You" below. Renowned in the Roaring Twenties is due out April 4, and is available for pre-order through Bandcamp. For more on Lady Pills, check out the artist on Facebook and Instagram.
