We've been loving Chicago's Bnny for a while now, with their mixture of 90's style alt-rock meets modern pop sound. For their latest single, the Jessica Viscius led project moves in a different direction. That's not to say that "Love Trap" doesn't have shades of 90's alt-rock meets modern pop, but this new single sees Bnny getting more experimental. There's a heavy layer of guitar fuzz and feedback slathered all over almost the entire song. The song is one part pop ballad and another a heavy sludge fest. It's reminding me of some of that dog's odder moments mixed with their Retreat from the Sun pop sensibilities. Just when you think you can predict what an artist like Bnny will do next, they go and surprise you with a song like "Love Trap."
