Cape Crush - "Calm & Delivered"

One of our favorite emo/pop punk bands are back with a new single. "Calm & Delivered" is the latest from Massachusetts' own Cape Crush. It fits right into their melodic world of those two genres, plus it adds plenty of alt-rock into the mix as well. That's what always makes Cape Crush stand out from the pop punk/emo pack. It's much more in the style of 90's mid-western emo than the TRL friendly style that erupted in the 00's. That's not to say that "Calm & Delivered" doesn't have a ton of pop hooks in it. This is an insanely catchy noise that you're going to welcome having burrowed in your skull for the next week or so. The press release for the song compares it to The Get Up Kids and that dog., and we're thrilled to agree with both of those assessments.
Ali Lipman (vocals and guitar) says of her band's latest single:
“‘Calm & Delivered’ is about the pressure to be emotionally regulated when everything around you is overstimulating. It's inspired by my journey as a parent, which is often too loud, as well as my journey as a woman, where setting boundaries is often interpreted poorly… So it's really about finding your inner-power as a woman and not being afraid of your rage or frustration.”
