We Might Die - "Shit Cycle"
Las Vegas punks We Might Die pack a lot into under two minutes on their latest single. "Shit Cycle" is a blisteringly fast and noisy punk song that is as hooky as possible. It's straight up punk with strong elements of noise punk and riot grrrl. The not-so-secret ingredient is bassist/vocalist Liv's ability to go from a sweeter, more pop punk focused style to an angry, almost metal growl in the same lyric. It's an intense track that also has a surprising pop edge to make it so damn catchy. We Might Die are reminding me of a more modern version of The Gits on "Shit Cycle."
Liv says of the band's latest single:
“Have you ever met someone who just complains, constantly? They seem like they are seeking solutions, but really they are just enjoying the attention and never intend on fixing their actual problems or situations. This song is about those people. They just continue the shit cycle, over and over and over again. Forever.”
