We tend to get caught up in the whole neo-soul thing, and we're thrilled to bring you our latest discovery: Thee Sinseers! Described as "So-Cal lowrider soul," the ensemble just released "For You." The single has that smooth sound that just sounds like it couldn't have been recorded in 2023. I can't quite call it timeless because "For You" sounds like the 1960's, maybe the 1970's. It's the kind of song that makes people declare that "they don't make music like that any more," but if you pay attention, you know they do. Led by East Los Angeles' Joey Quinones, Thee Sinseers could quickly become your new favorite modern soul band.
You can listen to "For You" below. The single is out now via Colemine Records. For more on Thee Sinseers, check out the band on Instagram and Facebook.
