Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs have released their first single since 2023's Land of Sleeper, and strap yourself in for this one. "Detroit" is a giant song. It has one foot in the land of alt-rock and the other in the world of metal. It's a big, sludgy, noisy, loud, abrasive song, and we're loving it. It sounds like a melding of The Jesus Lizard and The Melvins, with guitars that sound like you're being pounded in the head, and vocals that slap you across the face. "Detroit" is an absolute auditory powerhouse that demands and deserves your full attention.
"Band bellower" Matt Baty says of the new song:
"Detroit reflects on the worst manifestations of male jealousy and resentment, and the ways in which a lack of accountability can lead to deflecting responsibility in exchange for blaming external forces like fate or God for perceived injustice."
You can watch the video for "Detroit" below. The single is available now on Bandcamp with all proceeds going to domestic violence charities. For more on Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, check out the band on Facebook.
