If you don't want to hear a country song called "I Left My Weed in Texas," I don't even know what we're doing here. New York City cabaret star Amber Martin just released a new single with that title. It's a classic old school country torch song... just about leaving your weed behind along with your love. It's funny, but not a complete novelty song. If you take out the subject matter, it's a completely solid country song that could have been released any time in the last fifty or so years. Except for the fact that it's about marijuana.
Amber Martin says of her new single:
“It’s like a stoner’s swaggering lament, a highly entertaining, oddball lyric about the heartbreaking moment when you discover that after leaving your no-good lover behind, you have literally also left your most beloved weed.”
You can watch the video for "I Left My Weed in Texas" below. Unbreakable Heart is due out November 15. For more on Amber Martin, check out the artist's website.
