Jon Muq was born in Uganda and now resides in Austin, TX. He's performed on the streets, cruise ships, and opened for artists like Billy Joel, Norah Jones, and Mavis Staples. Now he has his debut single, and you're going to want to jump on the bandwagon right now. "Runaway" has that easygoing mainstream folk thing going for it. If it had been released three months ago, I would have declared it to be the song of the summer. It also has a bit of an Afropop sound to it that helps set it apart from the majority of mainstream folk-pop. Muq also adds this intensity to the song that is hard to put your finger on. As easygoing as it is, it gives the song an immediacy that is impossible to ignore.
Jon Muq says of his new single:
“Running away from anything good or bad is never a weakness but rather courageous.”
