M(h)aol - "DM:AM"

Hailing from Dublin, Belfast, and London are M(h)aol, who might become one of our favorite noise rock bands by the end of the year. The trio's latest single, "DM:AM," is an intense burst of noise over post punk beats. Speak-singing vocals go over an at times almost overwhelming wall of noise that barrels over the listener. The song sounds like a mixture of Porridge Radio and 80's Sonic Youth. "DM:AM" builds and builds tension before erupting into a chaotic, almost free jazz style chaotic ending. M(h)aol might not end up being for everyone, but if you love fiery feminist noise rock, you'll be enamored with this one.

M(h)aol say about their latest single:

"This song is about men DM’ing women online and then getting aggressive when they don’t get the response they want. They quickly turn to insults about the women, and then once the woman says she’ll expose what they’ve done, she gets a laundry list of reasons why he behaves like this and how much he has to lose, which is meant to make the women feel sorry for them."
