Tropos - "Aerator Debris"

We don't cover a lot of jazz here at If It's Too Loud..., but sometimes something just works for us. According to their Bandcamp bio, Tropos "... is a collective ensemble of improviser-composers based in Brooklyn, NY." Their latest single, "Aerator Debris," is the type of song perfect for music fans that love experimental music but have a hard time getting into jazz. The song doesn't seem to have a structure, and all four musicians appear to be playing separately. Personally, I'm a huge fan of Sonic Youth's SYR series of free playing/jam style recordings, so I'm finding a lot of similarities with "Aerator Debris." Mainstream music fans and normies are going to find Tropos to be noise and not music, but the deeper you listen the more a song like "Aerator Debris" makes sense. It gets more and more captivating and intriguing the further into the song you get.

You can listen to "Aerator Debris" below. Switches is due out June 27, and is available for pre-order through Bandcamp. For more on Tropos, check out the artist on Instagram.
