Canyon Lights - "Drivin' Me"

Boston based blues rock trio Canyon Lights have a new single out, and this time they have company. "Drivin' Me" features slide guitar by Johnny Stachela (Duane Betts, Palmetto Motel), and it completely changes up the band's sound. Sure, it's still a blues rock based song, but it has more of a Southern rock vibe than Canyon Lights' previous singles. It's a laid back song that's perfect for the final weeks of summer. "Drivin' Me" has more than a little bit of a Black Crowes sound, with just a little bit more of a country sound. Canyon Lights are shaping up to become one of our favorite discoveries of 2025, and it certainly doesn't hurt that they're from Boston.

Drummer Tim Carman says of the band's latest single:

“Although the lyrics came together quickly, the exact feel of the song took a while to reveal itself. While in the studio, with the help of co-producer Dylan Brown, we settled on the driving snare drum/tambourine groove with a Beatle-inspired guitar part. It quickly became one of our favorite tracks on the album."

You can listen to "Drivin' Me" below. Breathe Easy is due out August 29. For more on Canyon Lights, check out the band's website. Upcoming tour dates are below the song and include September 19 at Lynn Auditorium in Lynn, MA and September 20 at Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, NH, both opening for George Thorogood & The Destroyers.
