The Empty Threats - "bus stop"

The Empty Threats are a bit of an enigma. The Kaurna land/Adelaide band's latest single, "bus stop," fits firmly in the category of indie rock. There are even Sonic Youth style guitars all over the song to back this up. It's noisy and aggressive and absolutely delightful for those of us that love that sort of thing. But the vocals betray that sound as the song goes on. The vocalists swing wildly between more of an indie folk style and a 50's crooner. At times the song is quite lovely, and at others it's pure dissonance and anxiety inducing. "bus stop" is a wild thrill ride of a song that we're fully on board for. Strap yourself in and enjoy the beauty and chaos of The Empty Threats.

Stu Patterson says of their latest single:

“The song is an ode to the sleepless nights where one's emotions blurs between the lines of sanity and insanity."
