Sleaford Mods Cover Yazoo

Photo via Facebook

In something that sounds like it was a fever dream, English electro-punks Sleaford Mods have released a cover of Yazoo's "Don't Go." Even if you're not sure if you know "Don't Go," you do. It's one of those early 80's New Wave songs that is simply inescapable. Sleaford Mods do a fairly straightforward cover of the song, albeit one that seems much more DIY and grime slathered than the original. It's an ultra-minimal take on the New Wave classic that sounds like a home recording... in the best possible way. It sounds more like an early 90's home computer recording than a more polished modern day home recording, but that fits right in with Sleaford Mods entire aesthetic.

You can listen to Sleaford Mods' version of "Don't Go" below. For more on Sleaford Mods, check out their website.
