Massachusetts based Massive Nightmares just released a single titled "Back to the Beach" just as summer is winding down. (Of course, the line "Bring my bones back to the beach" is the perfect way to bridge summer fun and spooky season.) The song is an anthemic blast of melodic punk that's just as gruff as it is melodic. The vocals have that rough sound that makes us love Paul Westerberg, which just makes the melodies of the gang vocals that much sweeter. As melodic as "Back to the Beach" is, it's undeniably a punk song. Although there are punk elements, I can't quite call the song pop punk. It's the type of song that just gets more and more infectious with every single listen.
