Maine's Sparxsea's latest single is a charity single for Ever After Mustang Rescue ranch in Biddeford, ME. In 2022, the matriarch and director of Ever After passed away and are now in need for donations and volunteers to take care of the remaining horses.
"Daylight" is a little more straightforward than the music we've covered of Sparxsea's previously. It's a mixture of singer-songwriter meets modern indie pop. This one is going to have some serious crossover appeal that is lovely with just a slight groove. It's the type of song that would have easily found a home on the Lilith Fair stage back in the 90's, but with a modern update. Plus, if you're looking for indie cred, the track features original Morphine drummer Jerome Deupree!
Sparxsea says of her latest single:
“I’d dream of these beautiful gardens and think they were so far away. One day I realized we are both the gardens and the light. The light to grow that garden is there, inside of all of us. Then, our gardens lay seeds of creation for others. It’s not as easy as flipping a lightswitch to get through hard times, but maybe hearing my words will uplift someone, even just a little bit.”
You can watch the video for "Daylight" below. On the Sea is due out September 13. For more on Sparxsea, check out the artist's website.
