Bill and the Belles - "Sobbin' the Blues"

There's no way around it: The upcoming album from Bill and the Belles is a divorce record. It chronicles singer Kris Truelsen's divorce, and the latest single, "Sobbin' the Blues," doesn't exactly have the rosiest views on marriage. In the hands of a lesser artist, the song could have just been that cliched man hates his wife kind of song, but Truelsen has such a great sense of humor that it's impossible not to be charmed by the song. "Sobbin' the Blues" is reminiscent of an Arlo Guthrie song. It's silly, but not a full novelty song. How silly is the song? The chorus is Truelsen crying.
