Red Ribbon - "High"

Red Ribbon, the musical project of Seattle to Los Angeles musician Emma Danner, has crafted this perfect song that encapsulates indie rock, pop, and Americana. "High" is this kinda ramblin' song filled with acoustic guitar and crashing cymbals. Normally that combination wouldn't work at all, but Danner pulls it off. That's one of the truly fascinating thing about "High." It meanders through multiple genres without changing its feel. At times it feels more indie rock, at others more Americana, and others like it might be heading towards pop. And sometimes all three at the same time. It's a song you're not going to be able to not pay attention to. It will quietly demand your undivided focus.

Emma Danner says of the new song:

It could just be about drugs, or it can be about whatever in your life makes you highI lost my first love to an opioid addiction and I was a user of opiates in my youth. My whole life I’ve been trying to figure out what one can do to expand their consciousness outside of drug use. There’s a little bit of fear around feeling good in this song as well. If I follow this thread of happiness, will I lose my way?
