Pony Hunt - "Stardust"

New Orleans' Pony Hunt haven't released new music since 2016. Every so often they've bounced back into my consciousness, and I'll check to see if I missed a release. Sadly, I hadn't. Luckily, our five year drought of new music from Pony Hunt is now at an end with the release of "Stardust." The new song mostly drops the folkier side from Heart Creek in favor of more of an indie rock sound. The doo wop is still there, which is what truly made us love their music. "Stardust" is an absolute epic as it combines both indie rock and doo wop masterfully while weaving more towards one or the other throughout the song. If I'm being forced to compare the song to other artists, I'd say it's like Lady Lamb meets Molly Burch.

You can watch the video for "Stardust" below. VAR!, the upcoming album from Pony Hunt that "... explores queerness, gender identity, and the struggle to be at home with one's self," will be out July 23 on Wing and Wing. You can pre-order a copy at Bandcamp. For more on Pony Hunt, check out the artist's website.
