The Julies - "Symmetry"

The Julies released their first EP in 1994, and then followed it up with an album before breaking up after their label imploded. They became one of those "Whatever happened to?" bands, until Lost in Ohio released their EP and album in 2020. Now, the band is back with their first new music in almost thirty years! "Symmetry" is this slow building monster of a song that is like The Cure filtered through shoegaze with some 90's indie rock and power pop. It plods along in the best possible way with swirling guitar solos helping to guide you along. It's a song that finds beauty in its noise. Even if you were unaware of The Julies in the 90's, "Symmetry" feels like a warm hug from a long missed friend.

You can watch the video for "Symmetry" below. Always & Always is due out September 29 on Lost in Ohio, and is available for pre-order through Bandcamp. For more on The Julies, check out the band on Instagram and Facebook.
