Elisapie Covers The Rolling Stones

We've previously covered Inuk artist Elisapie's Inuktitut covers of Cindi Lauper and Metallica. Today, we're bringing you her version of The Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses." This one is a personal one for Elisapie, as it is a tribute to a childhood friend who had a difficult home life. The cover is slowed down to about half the speed of the original. It's still an instantly recognizable cover while being nearly completely reinvented. It's a sparse version, and has an almost ghostly hue throughout. Elisapie is making these compelling and highly emotional Inuktitut versions of some of the most iconic songs around, and this is no exception.

Elisapie says of her friend the song is dedicated to:

Wild Horses became a source of comfort for him and his obsession with it was palpable, as if he was riding away from all his problems on the back of this song."

You can watch the video for "Qimmijuat (Wild Horses)" below. Inuktitut is due out September 15 on Bonsound, and is available for pre-order here. For more on Elisapie, check out the artist's website.

  1. I am age 46years, I was skeptical about fixing my credit with REVOX CREDIT SPECIALIST. A colleague told me to try working with them which I contacted them through their email REVOXCREDITSPECIALIST@GMAIL.COM . to my greatest surprise my credit was back to normal in all 3 bureaus, clearing a debt of $34000 in just 9days. I strongly recommend them to all who need credit solution
