Gretchen Shae & The Middle Eight - "Pretty Little Lies"

Gretchen Shae & The Middle Eight's Bandcamp bio describes them as "Sounds of post-punk, alternative, 90's, ambiance in a blender." Their latest single nails that sound expertly. "Pretty Little Lies" is a gothic rocker with a surprising pop streak running through it. If you know that Gretchen Shae also fronts a Siouxsie and the Banshees cover band (Gretchen and the Banshees, naturally), the sound of this new song makes perfect sense. "Pretty Little Lies" sounds like if Siouxsie Sioux fronted a post-grunge, pre-power pop band in the mid-90's. It's a compelling song that only adds to our adoration of Gretchen Shae & The Middle Eight.

You can listen to "Pretty Little Lies" below. The song is currently available via Bandcamp. For more on Gretchen Shae & The Middle Eight, check out the band on Facebook and Instagram.
