Songs that rock as hard as "Fever Dream" does aren't usually this beautiful, but Sunday Junkie pulled it off. The Worcester band's latest is a sort of alt-rock power ballad with an emphasis on power. There's a fuzzed out guitar squall behind the track, particularly on the chorus, that could have easily ended up being abrasively noisy. While it is, it's also gorgeous. "Fever Dream" is heavy on harmonies, and is almost relaxing at times. You'll be easily swept up by the mellow beauty Sunday Junkie have created for you... until the song takes an unexpected turn and begins to auditorily pummel you, while still remaining just as lovely. We've been on the Sunday Junkie bandwagon for a while now, and "Fever Dream" has us even more happy with our choice.
You can listen to "Fever Dream" below. Sunday Junkie's debut album is scheduled to be released on May 9. For more on the band, check them out on Facebook and Instagram.
