I have a soft spot for garage rock, and one of the coolest garage rock albums so far this year is The Internal Theater from Archer Oh. The California band has this interesting crooner style element added into their garage rock, which ups the cool factor for their sound. It's a smooth version of the decades old genre, and somehow adding something older than garage rock to garage rock makes it sound fresh. Once I saw they were playing The Rockwell in Somerville, I couldn't resist making the trip into the city on a Sunday night.
To put it simply, Archer Oh were fabulous. Garage rock is always a genre that works best played live, and they were no exception. I had no idea what kind of fanbase they have, but their fans packed The Rockwell on a school night and sang along to virtually every word. This is a band that doesn't seem to have any casual fans, and the younger leaning audience was stoked to see their heroes take the stage. Their energy was well rewarded, and Archer Oh put on a killer set from start to finish. Arturo "Archie" Medrano is secretly one of the most engaging frontmen in rock and roll today, and every song seemed to build on the excitement of the one before. I say this a lot, but Archer Oh won't be playing clubs the size of The Rockwell for very long.
Playing before Archer Oh was Winkler, a band I was more familiar with by name than anything else. According to their Bandcamp bio, they are "music made in the bedroom for the bedroom." The Boston band had plenty of their own fans in attendance Sunday night, and they reminded me of if Jonathan Richman had been born in 2000 and not 1951. Winkler played an ultracool sounding version of indie rock that was even cooler because of the joy they exuded while playing. They were ridiculously fun, and they landed squarely on my must see list for when they're playing area shows.
Opening the night was Spirit Ghost, a band I was completely unfamiliar with. They play a jangly sounding, ramshackle version of indie rock with some garage thrown in. They were also a bunch of fun, and fit right in with the other two bands playing Sunday. They played a short but engaging set that has me wanting to check out their releases and head out next time they're playing a local show.
I fell victim to an online investing company(Wirecard) who promised that if i invested in them i would be getting 10% of my investment every month, so i took that long term investment plan and for the next three months i was getting paid so i invested again this time a bigger amount, that was when they stopped receiving messages from them and did not get any payment from them also, i was left devastated, to cut the long story short, i spoke to business associate about this and was referred to brillianthackers@gmail.com who helped me recover all my investment from that company, I contacted them on Whatsapp also +14106350697, working with them was satisfactory.
