Home Is Where - "migration patterns"

If you're just discovering Home Is Where like I am, this is an amazing jumping on point. "migration patterns" is a ramshackle indie rock song with some roots in folk and Americana, along with some punk thrown in for kicks. The song is loud and can be quite abrasive throughout. At times it seems like the members of Home Is Where are losing control of the song, which also includes liberal use of a harmonica. It's all of the noise of indie rock, the out of control nature of punk, and the songwriting of folk. "migration patterns" probably shouldn't work, and it does get fairly trainwreck-y at times. But that's what makes the latest by Home Is Where such a fantastic musical discovery.
Frontwoman Bea McDonald says of her band's latest single:
“This is about grappling with a mundane destiny. You will work until the day you die."
