Boston's Will Dailey is one of the most underrated singer-songwriters out there today. His latest single, "Hell of a Drug," shows that off. It's a solid, laid back song that comes across as a twangy alt-rocker. It has one foot squarely in the 90's, while throwing back even further to incorporate elements of 60's soul, some 70's AM radio sunshine, and a more modern gritty edge. I'm also detecting a little bit of glam and punk hiding just below the surface. Dailey has quietly become one of the most reliable artists out there just skirting mainstream recognition. "Hell of a Drug" is fantastic song, and a great jumping on point for anyone just discovering Dailey as an artist.
You can listen to "Hell of a Drug" below. Boys Talking is available exclusively on Dailey's website and Bandcamp for both physical copies and digital downloads, and won't be available on streaming services until after the album cycle. Upcoming live dates are below the song, and include April 4 at The Parlour in Providence and May 1 at Fallout Shelter in Norwood, MA.
