Housewife is the musical project of Toronto's Brighid Fry (she/they). Their latest single, "Fuck Around Phase," is surprising based on how indie rock it is while being insanely pop. The new song is layered in indie rock fuzz and feedback, but it's the kind of song that could easily be a huge pop hit with a different musical backing. Fry's vocals are pure indie or alt-pop, but "Fuck Around Phase" is also a giant rock song. This one is a really fun track that isn't meant to be taken too seriously, which is another reason it leans a little bit more into pop than indie rock. So let down that music snobbery a little bit and let yourself enjoy this one fully.
Brighid Fry says of the new song:
"This song is about learning to enjoy yourself and be present after going through a difficult time. I want to embrace being messy and not take things too seriously!"
